Rocky found himself in a shelter after his owner passed away and the family could not afford to continue caring for him.
He is a 6 year old white Boxer boy with stunning blue eyes. What a unique looking guy!
Rocky knows no stranger. He loves other dogs, he loves kids, and he even gets along with cats!
He's housebroken and crate trained and he's looking for a lucky family to adopt him. Rocky is a ready made sweetheart!
You won't regret welcoming him into your family!

Picture Day

It was so nice outside today, despite the crazy wind.  I thought I'd take Rocky out for some new pictures.  I even dug out a bold bandana to tie around his neck.

Rocky was not having it.

He was way more interested in leaves blowing around, dogs barking from blocks away, and bouncing around every time I asked him to sit. So finally I just sat down and let him do his thing.

Oh, did you know that awesome and handsome and regal and studly is his thing?

He's so dreamy.

Snow Day with Rocky

Spring sprung, and then Sunday we got a weird freak snow storm. I'm not complaining. In fact, I was probably the only one still wishing for snow!

Rocky did not mind either.

Snow makes the Boxer zoomie. Those lips were flyin!

Saturday

Seriously, somebody needs to get this dog out of here. Fast.

Every day that he spends here is going to make it that much harder for me to let him go! He's like... perfect. There is not one single thing I would change about him, he's so much awesome bundled up into one cute, weird looking little dog.

It was a beautiful morning here so I took The Boxer and The Little out for a walk.

He's actually a pretty good walker. He pulls a little, but it's not terrible, and he kept a fairly strait forward movement throughout.

Friday afternoon as the work day came to a close, I found myself so excited to be able to go home to Rocky. I could not wait to see his wiggle butt!

Rocky II

What can I say about Rocky... Look at him!  If his face doesn't convince you that life with him is full of fun and laughter, then I don't know what will.

Rocky came to us just three days ago and he is our newest foster dog. He found himself homeless and locked in a shelter cage, though he had done nothing to deserve it. His beloved owner passed away, and his family was unable to continue caring for him. Luckily, AABR got wind of Rocky's situation and bailed him out. He spent some time with another loving temporary foster before making his way to Minnesota and to us!

My husband and I are owned by three dogs and a cat, and so far Rocky has gotten along with all four of them! He's very curious about Sylvester the cat, but only curious enough for a sniff before being sent quickly away by the swipe of a feline paw. This morning, he appeared to be trying to get Syl to play with him.

So anyways, no accidents in the house yet! I'd call this guy housebroken for sure. He is crated during the work day and seems content to hang out there quietly, as long as there is a thick mound of soft blankets for him to curl up on!

He's finally eating normally. I'd heard he wasn't eating much around the time of his transport, but that is normal for dogs who are stressed out. We did discover that he prefers an elevated feeding dish. If you put it on the ground, he will bury it with whatever he finds handy. A blanket, a strewn sweatshirt on the floor, the air... (yeah, the air) Since he was just making a mess (and not eating the food that he would spill out of the bowl) I attached a bowl hanger inside his crate. He ate from it right away (all of the food!) and quit trying to bury it.

Rocky has a preference for men. Don't get me wrong, he loves women too. I still get excellent love and snuggles from him. But when my six and a half foot tall husband walks through the door, Rocky gets uncontrollably wiggly and starts making alien noises at him in pure joy.

Rocky is available for adoption through Across America Boxer Rescue. If you are interested in meeting this guy, visit AARB now for adoption information!

For now, I'll leave you with this:
